J/97E ‘MAÑANA’ was launched in January 2018 and has been very well maintained and lightly sailed in Pittwater by the owner and his wife.
MAÑANA is ready to sail-away with a comprehensive instrument and sail package. Due to her young age and light usage, MAÑANA offers a very low maintenance package for her new owner. She was slipped and re-antifouled plus engine serviced in March 2020. We can offer private one-on-one viewings and live facetime/skype inspections. See below for further information, or contact us.
The J/97E delivers a superior quality sailing experience, combining a high performance, easily driven hull with headroom and family cruising accommodation. The J/97E cockpit features full length seats with back rests and finger light tiller steering. All sailing controls including adjustable backstay, mainsheet and traveller are within reach of the helmsperson to make the boat very easy to manage. A retractable carbon bow sprit, roller furling non-overlapping jib and masthead asymmetric spinnaker allows superb all-around performance without the need for numerous skilled crew. The low VCG lead keel provides exceptional upwind stability combining a swept back leading edge and moderate 1.9m draft. For those keen on racing, the J/97E is a proven winner on both AMS and IRC, locally and worldwide, plus previous winner of ‘IRC Boat of the Year’ Award.
The J/97E’s interior conveys a feeling of space and comfort with large overhead hatches, cabin windows and portlights over the settees. The saloon layout features two settees, table with wine storage and fold down leaves, galley with fridge, storage, s/s sink, 2 burner gas stove with oven, plus a forward-facing navigation station. Up forward is a comfortable open V-berth with storage. Starboard side aft is an enclosed head with shower, wash basin, holding tank and storage for wet gear. Port side aft is the private owner’s cabin with storage. There is also a large lazarette accessed from the cockpit to store your racing and cruising gear.
In summary, the J/97E is easily driven, fast, easily handled, genuinely fun to sail and truly a multi-purpose yacht. Form follows function in good sailboat design and the J/97E is no exception. See below for full specs.
